Karu
MTAbagsArchitecture held in the hand. Karu rises from a broad base towards an angled upper edge, its tapered silhouette interrupted by a circular opening. The contrast between the geometric outline and the softened inner contour gives the design its particular force.
Conceived by María Teresa Aristeguieta and carved by hand, Karu allows the grain to run through a precisely defined form. Natural variations in the timber give each piece an individual surface composition within the design’s architectural framework.
The unlined interior is worked from the same piece of timber and finished with the same care as the exterior. High-quality protective finishes help protect the wood against moisture while preserving its natural character.
